My acquaintance with celery juice
I read about the Medical Medium protocol medio december 2017. I was so desperate about my Pots that I wanted to start with this protocol as soon as possible. So I bought a slow juicer and started reading about Medical Medium. My planning was to start with the protocol in the new year.
When my slowjuicer arrived I wanted to try the juicer by making celery juice. So I juiced a whole bunch of celery and drank it. I then went to the supermarket for a quick visit. At that time I could walk for a maximum of 20 minutes before I would become dizzy.

The next day I again drank celery juice. And again I did not become dizzy when I walked for 45 minutes. I decided to visit some shops. I could not believe it. I was just able to visit a few shops after another! It was unreal. The rest of the day I was completely knock out because of extreme fatique, but finally there was something I have found that influenced my dizziness. So never lose hope in controlling your own health!
I immediately decided to look up for more information on celery juice and became a member of several Medical Medium facebook groups. I found out that celery juice contains a lot of mineral salts which has a positive effect on the functioning of the brain. One of the standard advices for Pots is to heighten one's salt intake or drink electrolytes. I had tried before all kind of electrolytes and salts but nothing had effect. And now... by drinking celery juice I made in two days an incredible step towards healing myself from Pots. How did I start with the protocol?
In the first week of 2018 I started cold turkey with the protocol. Before I started I read the first book of Medical Medium and a blog about dietary and supplements suggestions specifically for Pots.
One can choose to start with a '28 days full raw cleanse'. During this month you only eat raw vegetables and fruit. No oil, no nuts, no alcohol and no coffee. I had chosen to start with the "Not all so raw cleanse of 28 days'. That is the same cleanse, only you are allowed to cook or steam vegetables after 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Not everybody is able to start immediately with a full cleanse. Especially when there are food allergies it can take a long time to incorporate the foods and supplements which are suggested. In those situations it is always important that you do not change too quick the way you eat. Keep listening well to your body! For some people it can take months or years to tolerate certain foods.
After this month I continued with the "Not all so raw cleanse" but then I was allowed to add beans, lentils, a little bit oil, oats, brown rice (pasta), nuts etc. I still eat no animal products, no soy, no gluten, no corn, no artificial additives and no chocolate. Schedule:
In the morning:
1 liter (32 oz) of lemon water
1/2 liter (16 oz) of celery juice
After 30-60 minutes: heavy metal detox smoothie
Lunch: salad or raw vegetables, sometimes a soup.
In the afternoon:
Heavy metal detox smoothie,
Some (dried) fruit.
After 4 o çlock
I eat sometimes a glutenfree muffin or some nuts.
For dinner
A low fat meal, which consists of potatoes/brown rice/brown rice pasta/lentils/beans and cooked/raw vegetables.
In the evening
Fruit

Although I am very enthusiastic about the progress on my health, following the protocol requires some kind of discipline to keep strict to it. The first year was the most difficult year in adapting myself to the protocol. From one day to the other I stopped eating the way I ate for 46 years. But now after a 1,5 years I have slowly accepted it more that this is now my way of life. My drive to heal is so strong that this is the sacrifice I now have to make. You can't have it all.
